“He Who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32
There are people who believe that the Christian life is all about our giving up things. They really do not begin to understand what God Himself has given up?!He gave us His only Son…the One who was holy and without any sin, Who did not even begin to deserve death, much less the horrible torture He went through before the crucifixion?! God willingly chose to give His Son for me and you.
I’m not sure we will ever fully be able to get our heads around that concept. I personally cannot understand how God willingly gave His Son for me when I’ve been “dragged kicking and screaming” to give up my son Calvin since he died in a car wreck years ago. This type of extravagant, sacrificial, unconditional love is truly beyond our comprehension!
BUT in light of this sacrifice, where God proved once and for all that He loves us beyond all measure, how can we not trust Him to take care of us? That is the question in this passage. After God has done all this, He will obviously take care of giving us all the other things we need. Will you trust Him for your needs today?
