STEADFAST

Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. I Corinthians 15:58

Lord, I long to be steadfast and immoveable, but I don’t really know how to do that? In the midst of this trial, I feel more like II Corinthians 4, where the waves of life have knocked my feet out from under me and I am floundering, trying to find a place to stand that is not shifting sand! Help me to stand upon You, the Rock of My Salvation. Help me to cling to You, my Rock of Ages. Help me to realize that, in my own strength, it is totally impossible to stand up to these circumstances that feel like they are knocking the very life out of my body!

Only through You will I make it through tomorrow. Only by letting You empower and strengthen me will I be able to go on another minute, another hour. Only through Your grace and mercy will I survive!

Lord, please help me to turn to you, to allow you to give me whatever I need whenever I need it because You, oh Lord, are actually steadfast and immovable. “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.”(Hebrews 13:8) That verse is right after your promise to “never leave me nor forsake me.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Lord, please live through me and enable me to be like You, my Heavenly Father. Encourage me that this effort is not in vain because of Your promises.

Thank You Lord for your steadfast love, grace and mercy that will carry me through!
