Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might, He increases power. Isaiah 40:28-29
Sometimes we forget what we know. If we have any church background or if we have studied anything about God in Scripture, one of the basic truths we learned first was that God is all powerful.
Sometimes in the midst of trials in our lives, we tend to allow Satan to cause us to doubt God. Satan’s tricks are as old as Genesis when he whispered in Eve’s ear that God didn’t really mean for her not to eat of that one fruit that He had actually forbidden to Adam and Eve. He still likes to whisper in our ear that God either doesn’t see, doesn’t care or that He is not even able to help us. None of those things are true.
Scripture is full of not only verses that tell us that God sees and knows our pain, but also examples of where God ministered to those who needed Him at the time and place where they needed Him the most. God not only promises to give us strength (Psalm 29:11) but God is the source of all strength because No One in all of creation is as strong as God Himself. If God is the source of our strength, that is far greater than any of the “super heroes” that man can even dream about!
God knows what we need. He knows when we need it. Best of all, God wants to “give strength to the weary and power to those who lack might.” The only thing holding us back is our own lack of faith and belief. We need to admit to ourselves (and to God) that we realize we need Him.
James 4:6b (NKJV) says “God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.”
Do you want God to resist you or do you want Him to give you exactly what you need? The choice is yours.
